Counseling Specialties

Our clinicians use a variety of techniques from different theoretical orientations in order to tailor therapy to each individual or family and their unique needs. Below are some of the presenting concerns our clinicians treat:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral disorders
  • Depression and other mood disorders (e.g., Bipolar Disorder)
  • Anxiety disorders (e.g., Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder. Fears/Phobias)

Child Psychological/Psycho-educational Assessments

Psychological assessments (also known as evaluations or testing) are used to help clarify what a patient's diagnosis might be or to differentiate among several diagnoses. Additionally, assessments can be used to determine whether a child might benefit from school-based or community-based accommodations and interventions.  Our office offers assessments for children six years of age through sixteen years of age. Below are the types of tests/concerns our assessments address:  


  • Emotional disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Behavioral disorders (e.g., ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder)
  • Learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, disorders of written expression)
  • Gifted/IQ evaluations: involves testing a child's cognitive abilities in order to determine eligibility for school gifted programs
