DESCRIPTION: This group is an introduction to the basic concepts and skills of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for depression. The group is not intended to “fix” your depression but, rather, to help you understand your depression and give you techniques to manage it effectively. There are a total of 6 sessions, each covering a different topic or set of CBT skills. Sessions are offered weekly.
COST: $40 per session

ABOUT THE GROUP FACILITATOR: Monica Barrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 18 years of direct clinical experience. She has a Doctorate of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development/Counseling from Webster University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from Argosy University. Monica is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). Monica has experience in treating mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. She has worked with a variety of populations to include individuals, couples, families, children/adolescents, professionals, military, and school systems.
